TKAM Sequel Chapter
At school, my views have changed. A once tired and annoyed girl was done with the teachers, but now its not so bad. Now I see it as a way to get out of the heap of society and hang around with kids my own way. It’s amazing how once you try to see the bright side of things, it will genuinely make them better. My life at school was great especially being one of the smartest in my class. It was almost like everything was going perfectly, except that was… for Jem.
Jem has been acting odd recently ever since the trial. But it seems now he has become even weirder. As everyday goes by he becomes more and more reluctant to talk to me, especially hen we’re alone. I feel like he has something that he is hiding. But, if he won’t tell me, I’m going to have to find out.
“What’s this?” I almost too loudly yelled out loud. I found a small index card labeled with our adress which stated, “Dear special neighbor, you have been chosen to fight the Radley house pet. You may not know what it is, but will you still accept for the grand prize of $1000?! First come, first serve. Boo has chosen the three contestants himself and the first one to challenge and succeed will get the prize.” The in scratchy handwriting on the front it said, “To Jem… p.s. you must not tell anyone.” I immediately sprinted out the door thinking to myself how much of an idiot I am to let Jem go to “his friend’s house”. That’s a scary thought to have at an age like mine; thinking your older sibling is dead meat and you can’t do anything about it. My little legs ran and ran and ran. But was I too late? Was I too late to save my idiotic brother Jem?
