TKAM Sequel Chapter

At school, my views have changed. A once tired and annoyed girl was done with the teachers, but now its not so bad. Now I see it as a way to get out of the heap of society and hang around with kids my own way. It’s amazing how once you try to see the bright side of things, it will genuinely make them better. My life at school was great especially being one of the smartest in my class. It was almost like everything was going perfectly, except that was… for Jem.

Jem has been acting odd recently ever since the trial. But it seems now he has become even weirder. As everyday goes by he becomes more and more reluctant to talk to me, especially hen we’re alone. I feel like he has something that he is hiding. But, if he won’t tell me, I’m going to have to find out.

“What’s this?” I almost too loudly yelled out loud. I found a small index card labeled with our adress which stated, “Dear special neighbor, you have been chosen to fight the Radley house pet. You may not know what it is, but will you still accept for the grand prize of $1000?! First come, first serve. Boo has chosen the three contestants himself and the first one to challenge and succeed will get the prize.” The in scratchy handwriting on the front it said, “To Jem… p.s. you must not tell anyone.” I immediately sprinted out the door thinking to myself how much of an idiot I am to let Jem go to “his friend’s house”. That’s a scary thought to have at an age like mine; thinking your older sibling is dead meat and you can’t do anything about it. My little legs ran and ran and ran. But was I too late? Was I too late to save my idiotic brother Jem?

I believe that i deserve an A this quarter. I strive to always do my best in this class. I am on time to class and prepared. I come ready to learn and my grade so far reflects that. In this class right now i have a 111.5%. This is a very high grade and I think it represents my work effort. I have 260 point of extra credit and have gotten good grades on big projects such as getting 380/400 on my Persuasive Speech. And 267/300 on my teaching takeover. I have also ended each quarter so far with a grade over 100. And that includes getting the highest grade last quarter in the whole class. I’m always excited to learn new things in this class and I participate regularly. I believe getting an A would really represent my hard work and effort I give for this class.

I drew this picture of Danny Woodhead because he just recently (as of yesterday) signed with the Baltimore Ravens. I drew this because he is a great full back who is good at not only blocking, but also catching and running. He can do it all. He has certainly made his point in the NFL. And he is just getting started. I predict that he will have a great season with the Ravens as he is the perfect fit. The Ravens have always been looking for that one guy to step up on offense and help Joe Flacco. I believe that Danny Woodhead will most definitely be that guy. Woodhead has had great seasons on the Chargers so carrying that over to the Ravens would be a huge help after coming off of two straight non-playoff years.

This picture helps relate to the unit theme of “Making a Point” very well. Woodhead has made a point in the NFL already with 116 yards last season while struggling with an injury. This was still very high among full backs as all they are expected to do is block. And not to mention only one fumble! Woodhead will continue to make a point at the Ravens and will probably make an even bigger one then before. Who knows what the future has in store for Danny Woodhead and the Ravens.

Prequel chapter to “Killing Mr. Griffin”:

“Alright time to wake up Susan”, her mom says, “it’s the big day”. “I’m so scared”, Susan replies. “You’ll be fine”, her mom replies, “just tell them what you know”. About two hours later Susan is on her way to the hearing. She basically has to rat out all of her friends/former friends.

“Order, Order”, the judge exclaimed, “Susan here are the people involved in this. Today we will just focus on Mark”. “Ok”, Susan said with a crack in her voice. “Susan tell me, what has Mark done to keep the death of Mr. Griffin a secret”? “He has first of all had the plan to kidnap Griffin. Then, he covered it up by killing David’s Grandmother”, Susan admits. A”And how do you know about the death of Mrs. Ruggles?” “He told me before he attempted to burn me”. “Alright that’s enough time for today”, the judge goes on, “thank you Susan for your cooperation, meeting adjourned”.

Rosa Parks is one of the most famous people in making a point in the history of America. Her stubbornness became a big contribution to the end of segregation in the United States.

Civil rights activist Rosa Parks was born on February 4, 1913, in Tuskegee, Alabama. Her refusal to give up her seat to a white man on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama had caused a major boycott. The city of Montgomery’s only choice was to lift segregation on the buses in the city. Rosa went on to attend a segregated, one-room school in Pine Level, Alabama. Rosa Parks attended segregated schools pretty much all of her life. Rosa then went on the bus and refused to give up her seat to a white person which got her arrested. If that doesn’t reflect making a point I don’t know what does.

By refusing to give up her seat, Rosa Parks helped start the Civil Rights Movement in America. There were four black people who were asked to get up for the white people. Three obeyed, Rosa Parks did not. “People always say that I didn’t give up my seat because I was tired,” wrote Parks in her autobiography, “but that isn’t true. I was not tired physically… No, the only tired I was, was tired of giving in.” This is the true character of Parks. She did not care for segregation and she was sick of it. She made her point and stood glued to the ground, not budging. Rosa Parks was an American hero. And it all started with her making a point.

I believe that i deserve an A in this second quarter. Every day I come into class prepared and ready to learn. I always get my work done and do my homework. I participate a lot also. I have earned 200 extra credit points for my participation and 440 extra credit points total.

I really enjoy being in English I and I am excited to learn new things and read new stories. As of right now I have a 115.5 in this class, so I must be doing something right. I have good attendance also as I have only been absent once. English is one of my favorite subjects and I think it is pretty obvious why I deserve an A in this class

I chose to create this drawing of CJ Mosley, a football player on the Baltimore Ravens because it is something that I feel a connection to. I love to watch the Ravens whenever they have games and follow everything they do. I created this by looking up pictures of CJ Mosley and trying to recreate that picture on paper. I am not the best artist but after spending a lot of time on drawing Mosley, it isn’t half bad.

I also chose to draw him because of how it relates to the unit theme of “Actions and Reactions”. The Ravens had a very poor season last year and so did Mosley. But this action has caused Mosley to react in a great way. Mosley is one of the younger players on the Ravens and nobody expected him to be a hero. But he took it into his own hands to become a team leader. So far this year, Mosley has recorded 92 tackles and 4 interceptions to make the Ravens defense look as good as their Superbowl winning year. His reaction to a disappointing 2015-16 season was becoming a feared presence in the NFL in2016-17 and a man nobody wants to face in only his 3rd season!

To sum it up, this drawing showed good creativity and it shows how the action of the disappointing ravens season last year led to CJ Mosley’s reaction being to take his game to a new level. Through my research i was able to mimmick a drawing of Mosley and connect it to a lot of people who enjoy watching football. This drawing of CJ Mosley can really connect to the unit theme of “Actions and Reactions”.

Narrative Blog (After Lennie Got Shot)

The shot has been fired. There is no going back. A flush a memories fills George with regret of his extreme solution to a minor problem. He manages to hide under a bush where nobody will find him. He falls to his knees. “What have I done”, Georges mutters repeatedly. Lennie has been with him almost all of his life no matter how dumb he is. George has realized what he so wrongly has done. Lennie was so innocent in his mind and George only wanted the best for him. George now realizes the horrible mistake he has made.

“He may have been a been a load to carry” George murmurs, “but I loved that bastard more than anyone”. George goes on for days without eating or finding good shelter. His only water was the brown water from the ponds around him. George can’t believe what he has just done. He realizes that George was more his friend than the load he has to haul around. “All this time I have thought i have been carrying us through everything”,George goes on,”but Lennie has also done so much for me”. George may have been carrying the mental load, but Lennie had been carrying the physical load. Nobody to get George food or wood for fires. Nobody to be his friend.

Eventually It became too much for George. He started becoming very sick and pale. He stopped walking and sat down. He pondered deeply about all the fun times him and Lennie had. He stood up ready to walk again but when he stood up he collapsed. He didn’t do anything about it. His final words were special ones. “We will now be reunited”. With his last uttered breath his eyes closed slowly to a close as he would return to live with his brother, his “load”, his rabbit tender, his friend.

The unit theme this quarter is “Actions and Reactions”, and Josh Gordon does a good job of exemplifying it, though it is an unfortunate way of doing so. Josh Gordon is a famous NFL player who plays on the Cleveland Browns and he has certainly got himself into quite a lot of trouble.

When Josh Gordon entered the National Football League, he was instantly amazing scoring touchdown after touchdown. But then it all went downhill from there. Drugs started to become a major issue. He was(and currently is) banned multiple times because of failed drug tests. Because of these actions Gordon constantly chooses to participate in, it tears his life apart. His dreams cannot be accomplish if he can’t even play in a game. He has tried everything but he just can’t get away from drugs. One small bad decision has cost him his fame, fortunate, and what could’ve been a very successful career on a team that needs him.

The Cleveland Browns are currently 0-12 this year. They are really struggling and a big chunk of that is because their start receiver Josh Gordon is letting them down. The reaction of his poor actions is a mad coach, mad fans, and a terrible team record to show for it. Within the last few months Gordon was convincing the world that he is changed and that the drug issues are past him. He was even about to be let back in the NFL! But guess what he does? He goes and screws it up. Recently, Josh failed another drug test. His actions have really made his life awful. He could’ve been the next big receiver the NFL needed, but instead he became the NFL’s biggest bust and joke.

“Reports: Suspended WR Gordon Fails Drug Test.” ESPN.com. N.p., n.d. Web. 01 Dec. 2016.

Josh Gordon hasn’t played since 2014 due to his suspension for multiple failed drug tests. Gordon made the Pro Bowl in 2013 when he led the league with 1,646 yards receiving despite playing just 14 games. Gordon also had nine touchdowns that season. It’s a shame to see that happen to anyone, much less someone who young children look up to. But he did it all to himself. He single-handedly let down an entire nation with his poor actions. Josh Gordon’s actions have definitely caused some unfortunate reactions.
